Mint and Proof Coins

Proof Coins and Minted Coins are often referred to as the same product, but they are completely different in terms of production, quality control, and final end product. Both styles of coins are produced in a similar manner since they are both squeezed at high tonnage on our coining presses. Minted coins are usually handled in large production batch runs. However proof coins are single stamping operations with great care and detail in the handling of these coins which usually are highly regarded by collectors for their high quality finishes and attention to handling to minimize scratching or damage to the finish. Please contact us for more information on our minting capabilities for precious metal and base metal mint and proof coins.

Step 1:

design

The first step in creating a mint coin design is the artwork phase of the design. Our designers can take your finished artwork or help create it with your input for a digital proof which begins the process before production.

Step 2:

final touches

The next step is the finalization of copy, choice of metal finish, and design changes if necessary. The final approval always takes place at the artwork stage before production tooling begins.

Step 3:

approval

The final stage of any design is the approval before proceeding to tooling. All features, copy, and most of all the finish of your proof or minted coin must be decided before production tooling can commence.
